COVID-19 in GCC: Kuwait reports 442 new cases, 3 die in Saudi Arabia

Qatar’s total infections reach 148,000, deaths rise to 248

Dubai: Saudi Arabia today reported 238 new COVID-19 infections and three deaths, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 365,563 and overall fatalities to 6,338.

According to the latest update by the Ministry of Health, 173 patients fully recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries from the deadly virus to 357,177.

The active cases have now reached 2,048, out of which 331 are critical under intensive care.

Kuwait

The Ministry of Health said that 442 people have tested positive in Kuwait during the latest 24 hours, pushing total infections to 159,264.

In its latest update on Tuesday, the ministry said that one more death was reported in the last 24 hours, taking fatality tally to 951.

An additional 484 fresh recoveries have also been recorded, increasing total recoveries to 152,420. The active cases have now reached 5,893, including 54 critical cases under intensive care.

Bahrain

A further 320 new COVID-19 cases have detected in Bahrain over the last 24 hours, bringing the total confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 98,260.

Two more deaths were reported, taking fatally tally to 362, the Ministry of Health said in its latest update. The new cases have been detected among 145 expatriate workers, 167 new cases are contacts of active cases, and eight are travel related.

The ministry also announced 291 fresh recoveries, pushing total recoveries to 94,937. The active cases have now touched 2,961, including 2,945 that are stable, while there are 16 critical cases still under intensive care.

Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health today confirmed the detection of 271 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total infections in Qatar to 148,000.

No new fatalities were reported over the past 24 hours, keeping death toll at 248.

According to the ministry’s latest update, a further 132 patients have fully recovered, pushing the total number of people recovered from the virus across the country to 144,350.

Active cases have now touched 3,402, including 334 that are stable cases under treatment, while 29 cases are critical under intensive care.

Oman

The Ministry of Health reported 171 new coronavirus cases and no new deaths in the Sultanate over the past 24 hours.

The total cases in the country have now touched 132,317, including1,516 deaths. An additional 181 patients have fully recovered, pushing total recoveries to124,579, according to the ministry’s latest update.

The ministry urged everyone to adhere to precautionary measures and social distancing protocols issued by the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling COVID-19.
