First batch of Pakistan’s first girls’ cadet college passes out

College is jointly run by the Sindh government and Pakistan Air Force

Karachi: A passing out parade was held of the first-ever batch of the students of Pakistan’s first girls cadet college in Nawabshah, Sindh.

The Bakhtawar Girls’ Cadet College, Nawabshah started enrolment of the first batch of students in 2017. Over 300 students are enrolled at the cadet college jointly run by the Sindh government and Pakistan Air Force.

Sindh Education and Culture Minister, Syed Sadar Ali Shah, who was the chief guest at the passing out ceremony, said Pakistan’s second girls’ cadet college was being constructed in Larkana, Sindh. Overall, the Education Minister said that eight cadet colleges were being constructed in the province in addition to the existing six such training institutions.

He said the construction of 27 universities in the province had been completed as part of the provincial government’s drive to upgrade the standard of education.

Shah said the Sindh government had the fullest resolve to grant equal rights to women in accordance with the vision of late prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

He said students enrolled at the cadet college had received the best mainstream education in addition to getting lessons and learning opportunities related to ethics, religion, and extra-curricular activities.

The Education Minister said the administration and staff of the cadet college deserved applause for their hard work that had resulted in a show of exceptional discipline by the passing out girl students.

Principal of Bakhtawar Cadet College, Brigadier (retired) Mohammad Amin, said the students of his institution had secured distinction in the examination conducted by the educational board.

He said the girl students of the college had also taken part in the national and international-level academic and sporting competitions and won laurels.

During the ceremony, students also demonstrated their physical training, gymnastics, and Karate skills.
