Man in India kills mother for ‘delay’ in serving food

Patna: A man in Bihar killed his mother after she took a little bit more time in serving him food in an incident that has shocked local villagers.

The bizarre incident took place in Sarayranjan police station limits in Samastipur district, some 90km east of Patna, on Saturday.

Police said the accused, Ashok Thakur, asked his mother to serve food saying he was very angry. However, the mother took time in cooking the meal and then serving him instantly.

In a fit of rage, the man began behaving abnormally with his 75-year-old mother and then indulged in a verbal altercation. After which she tried to calm him down but he instead got angrier. “In a fit of rage, the man picked up the manual grinder and hit her on the head with it. She suffered serious wounds and fell down on the ground,” police official Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary said on Sunday.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. The accused has been arrested and a case has been registered with the local police station on the complaint of his elder brother. According to the brother, the accused also behaved very roughly with him and tried to attack him when he tried to save his mother.
