UAE: Ramadan tents, group Iftar meals are not allowed in Ramadan
Isha and Taraweeh prayers shall not exceed 30 minutes, mosques to be closed after
Abu Dhabi: The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) advised everyone to avoid gatherings in Ramadan and refrain from family visits, as well as not to distribute and exchange meals.
Meanwhile, Taraweeh prayers will be allowed to be held at mosques across the country during Ramadan, but under strict precautionary measures. However, mosques will be closed immediately after Isha and Taraweeh prayers, which shall not exceed 30 minutes.
No Iftar meals are to be served at mosques. Women’s prayer areas, public service and sanitary utilities, as well as prayer rooms on highways will remain closed.
The committee also announced that Ramadan tents and group Iftar meals in public places are not allowed.
Distributing Iftar meals to houses or at mosques is not permitted. Those who want to distribute Iftar meals to needy people must coordinate with charitable bodies or to donate electronically.
Restaurants are not allowed to distribute Iftar meals inside, or at the entrance of restaurants. Meals are only to be distributed to labour camps through direct coordination between restaurants and the management of labour accommodations in each district, with adhering to social distancing protocols.
