Dubai: Police in Kuwait have arrested a man who appeared in a widely circulated video smashing the windows of parked cars in Salmiya while in an abnormal condition, according to the Ministry of Interior, Al Anba newspaper reported.

The footage, which went viral on social media, showed the man carrying a sharp tool and a metal rod, using them to shatter the windows of seven vehicles parked along a residential street. Security forces said they responded immediately after the Operations Room received a report of the incident.

A patrol from the Hawalli Security Directorate was dispatched to the location, where officers found the man behaving aggressively and holding both a blade-like tool and a metal bar.

Despite his violent resistance, police managed to subdue him and place him under custody. He was then transferred to the Salmiya Police Station for legal action.

Authorities have urged the owners of the damaged vehicles to report to the station to complete the necessary procedures.

The Interior Ministry emphasized in a statement that it will continue to take “immediate and firm measures” against anyone who tampers with public or private property, underscoring its commitment to maintaining public safety and preventing acts of vandalism.
