UAE detects two missiles from Iran; both fall into sea, one in territorial waters

The UAE Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran towards the country.

The ministry said the first missile fell outside the UAE’s territorial waters, while the second fell within them.

UAE remains on high alert

The Ministry of Defence said it remains on high alert and fully prepared to respond to any threats targeting the UAE.

It said the country’s forces are prepared to safeguard the UAE’s sovereignty, security and stability, as well as its national interests and capabilities.

Residents told situation is safe

UAE authorities reassured residents that the situation in the country is currently safe following the earlier missile threat.

The Ministry of Defence and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority said unusual sounds heard in some areas were caused by air defence systems intercepting the threat.

A mobile alert sent to phones across the UAE confirmed that the situation was safe and thanked residents for their cooperation during the emergency.

Authorities said normal activities can resume, while residents were urged to continue following official channels for real-time updates.

Air defences respond to threat

UAE air defence systems responded to the threat, with authorities confirming that multiple threats were successfully intercepted.

Dubai authorities also said unusual sounds heard across the city were linked to the interceptions.
