The first alert was issued at 3:26am, when authorities warned that air defence systems were responding to a missile threat and advised residents to remain in safe places.
A second alert followed at 4:05am, again confirming that air defence systems were actively dealing with a potential missile threat and urging the public to follow official safety instructions.
The Ministry of Defence said the sounds heard in several parts of the UAE were the result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, while fighter aircraft engaged cruise missiles and drones.
Authorities urged the public to remain cautious and follow all safety guidance issued by relevant agencies.
Residents were also warned not to approach, touch or photograph any debris resulting from interceptions and to allow specialised teams to handle such incidents. Any related incidents should be reported to emergency authorities immediately.
Officials said the UAE continues to closely monitor the situation, noting that further alerts or updates may follow in the coming hours as authorities prioritise the safety of civilians and critical infrastructure.
