Community members urged to make the most of remaining free activities

The ninth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2025 is at its halfway mark, and the city is buzzing. With the theme ‘Find Your Challenge’, DFC is inviting residents and visitors alike to commit to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days – all in the spirit of turning Dubai into one of the most active cities in the world.
Running until Sunday, 30 November, the Challenge, organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Sports Council (DSC), brings free, city-wide fitness events designed for all ages and abilities. From mass-participation events and three lively Fitness Villages to more than 25 community hubs and thousands of free classes, DFC 2025 makes staying active fun, social, and unforgettable.
Yaqoub Al Zarouni, Senior Manager of DFC at the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), urged the community to make the most of the remaining events. “All events are free. It’s amazing to see people from all over the UAE come and attend these events,” Al Zarouni told Gulf News.
The first wave of flagship events: Dubai Ride presented by DP World (November 2) and the expanded Dubai Stand Up Paddle presented by RTA (November 8 and 9) were huge hits.
Now, gear up for two epic finales: Dubai Run presented by Mai Dubai (November 23) transforming Sheikh Zayed Road into the world's largest free community fun run, and the inaugural Dubai Yoga (November 30) at Zabeel Park, a peaceful finale for all fitness lovers.
“We'll have the biggest run on Sheikh Zayed Road with the Dubai Run. We will end it with Dubai Yoga at Zabeel Park. So, there’s something for everyone; join in and be part of it,” Al Zarouni said.
Until November 30, visit the DP World 30×30 Fitness Villages at Kite Beach, Zabeel Park and Al Warqa'a Park, offering a range of activities including beach football, basketball, cricket, padel tennis, kids’ fitness zone, boxing, running and cycling track, gym sessions.
Meanwhile, more than 25 community fitness hubs across neighbourhoods host daily free workouts, specialised classes and unique experiences like skateboarding sessions, rooftop yoga and strength training – making fitness accessible to everyone, everywhere.
“Don’t miss out! Visit the Dubai Fitness Challenge website and check the calendar. Events aren’t just over the weekend, but there are activities throughout the week across the city. Enjoy everything, pick and choose, and be part of the events you want to attend,” Al Zarouni added.
DFC 2025 is also playing host to several prestigious international sporting events, including Dubai Premier Padel P1 (November 9-16), Dubai T100 Triathlon (November 13-16), DP World Tour Championship (November 13-16), Emirates Dubai 7s (November 28-30), and several external events, classes, and activations.
