Sharjah is accelerating its journey towards a smart economy with the launch of the 'Future Economy Forum', held at the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum. The event, organised by the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) in partnership with the UAE National Artificial Intelligence Program, Sharjah City Municipality, RUWAD, and private sector players, focused on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in vehicle maintenance and repair.

The forum highlighted cutting-edge AI technologies that enhance service efficiency and boost quality in the automotive sector, while also supporting Sharjah’s broader agenda to promote entrepreneurship, empower SMEs, and open new investment opportunities in emerging industries.

Government officials, private sector representatives, young entrepreneurs, and university and technical students attended the event. Discussions centred on integrating AI into professional and economic activities, transforming vehicle maintenance workshops, and driving growth in Sharjah’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The forum featured presentations by participating entities, alongside a success story from a young Emirati innovator in smart car workshops. Interactive platforms were set up by SEDD, the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum, and the Emirates Development Bank, complemented by exhibition stands showcasing youth-led projects in technology and digital maintenance.

Ahmed Saif bin Saed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the Commercial Affairs Department at SEDD, described the forum as an interactive platform connecting experts, investors, and supporting organisations to explore smart transformation in the vehicle maintenance sector.

“Organising this forum reflects SEDD’s commitment to Sharjah’s transition towards a knowledge-based, smart economy and encourages young people to embrace future technologies,” Al Suwaidi said. He added that such initiatives develop youth skills, foster public-private collaboration, and inspire the next generation through Emirati success stories in technical and digital fields.

Participants praised the initiative, highlighting its impact in empowering youth, advancing Sharjah’s smart economy agenda, and leveraging AI to enhance professional and technical industries across the emirate.
