Dubai Police achieve 2 min 7 sec average response time in Q3 2025, improving on last year

Dubai: The Dubai Police’s Command and Control Centre received 7,322,416 calls through the emergency hotline (999) last year, handling 7,004,793 of them within just 10 seconds.
During the third quarter of 2025 alone, the centre managed 1,487,859 out of 1,498,348 calls within the same timeframe, achieving a remarkable 99.3% response rate.
These figures were revealed during an inspection of the Operations Department by Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, as part of the annual review of general departments and police stations.
He was accompanied by Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs; Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs; Brigadier Turki bin Faris, Director of the General Department of Operations; Brigadier Dr. Ibrahim bin Siba’ Al Marri, Deputy Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, and other senior officers.
Lt. Gen. Al Marri emphasised the critical role of the General Department of Operations in ensuring swift responses from patrols and rescue teams at accident and emergency sites.
He highlighted that ongoing upgrades to the operations room’s technical infrastructure aim to establish a model digital operations hub, enhancing efficiency and supporting Dubai’s smart transformation goals.
Al Marri praised the department’s focus on smart applications and innovative solutions that enhance public safety and community satisfaction. He reviewed strategic performance indicators including emergency response times, speed of handling 999 calls, security coverage, and performance of specialised teams.
The inspection highlighted an impressive average response time to critical emergencies of two minutes and seven seconds in the third quarter of 2025, showing continued improvement from the previous year.
The General Department of Operations briefed officials on several initiatives, including the Phase One Drone Project, the Drone Systems Center, the Shaheen Project, and the Knight of Security Coverage Initiative. Presentations also covered 14 intellectual works completed over the past year.
The department received multiple accolades, including the Edison Award for Autonomous Security Solutions (Drone Box project), the first accreditation for operating drones beyond the visual line of sight, the SAG Award for Best Police Platform in the World (Operations Platform), and the first patent awarded at the force level.
Al Marri reviewed advanced systems at the Drone Systems Center and the mobile operations vehicle, used as a command hub for external events. The Drone Box system facilitated 3,000 transfers last year, with drones achieving an average response time of 57 seconds in very urgent cases—well below the target of 2 minutes and 45 seconds. Plans are underway to achieve full drone coverage across Dubai by 2028.
The visit concluded with Al Marri recognising a group of outstanding personnel from the General Department of Operations for their dedication and contributions, which have helped the department achieve top levels of institutional success.
