Meet the upper midrange smartphone with 200MP Camera & 8,000 mAh monster battery

Honor, a sub-brand of Huawei, is gearing up to launch its bold new Honor 500 series. The leaks so far are turning heads.
The two models — Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro — promise flagship-tier specs that could shake up the upper-midrange smartphone game.
Honor has officially confirmed that its new Honor 500 series will launch in China on November 24th at 19:30 local time.
Ahead of the launch, some key specifications have been revealed.
What we know so far:
The Honor 500 series is often described as an "iPhone Air-looking phone," featuring a premium unibody cold-carving process similar to that used by Apple products.
This design approach lends the phone a sleek and refined finish.
In terms of aesthetics, the Honor 500 marks a departure from its predecessor by showcasing a new horizontal racetrack-style DECO cam module on the rear, giving it a distinctive and modern look that differentiates it from previous models.
This thoughtful redesign not only emphasises its flagship aspirations but also signals Honor’s commitment to combining advanced manufacturing techniques.
With its 7.8mm thickness, MagicOS 10, Android 16 and 256GB | 512GB | 1TB storage variants (with no card slot), the Honor 500 comes with eye-catching design elements to compete strongly in the mid-to-high-end smartphone segment.
The Honor 500 series will deliver a sleek, modern look, complete with a flat, crystal-clear OLED panel that spans 6.55 inches.
Both models (base and Pro) are rumoured to sport a 1.5K resolution with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate — a standout for multimedia and gaming.
The design includes a cold-carved unibody back and a horizontal camera bar, giving it a refined touch.
Under the hood, the standard Honor 500 is expected to run on Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, while the Pro model could pack the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite.
These are paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of storage, depending on the variant, as per Gizmochina.
Both versions are slated to run MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.
Camera-wise, Honor isn’t playing around. The 500 will brandish a 200MP main sensor, supported by a 12MP ultra-wide lens, FoneArena reported.
Meanwhile, the 500 Pro steps it up with a 200MP main camera + a 64MP periscope zoom setup, plus OIS (optical image stabilisation) to help with low-light shots.
For selfies? A crisp 50MP front camera is reportedly built into both models, say leakers.
Battery life could be a major selling point. Early leaks suggest an 8,000 mAh battery for both models.
The Pro might support 80W wired charging plus 50W wireless charging, while the non-Pro version could stick with 80W wired only.
GSMArena expects Honor 500 Pro to be priced at $210.52 (in China).
This could be one of the most exciting launches from Honor in a while. A 200MP camera on a not-quite-flagship phone?
A massive 8,000 mAh battery with insanely fast charging? And top-tier Snapdragon chips to back it up?
If the rumours hold, this is a phone that might punch way above its class — and could tempt serious buyers.
