Dubai: He may be only 14, but Indian cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi is already making waves with his remarkable performances. A budding superstar, Vaibhav has quickly become a fan favourite, with admirers often going to great lengths just for a photo with the prodigy.

That was exactly the case for Aanya and Rivaa, two young fans who travelled nearly six hours just to meet the India Under-19 sensation. Dressed in Rajasthan Royals jerseys, the two girls — both the same age as Vaibhav — were all smiles as they posed with their idol in Worcester.

“Proof why we have the best fans. Drove for 6 hours to Worcester. Wore their Pink. Cheered for Vaibhav & Team India. Aanya and Rivaa, as old as Vaibhav himself, had a day to remember,” the Rajasthan Royals shared on social media.

Currently in England with the Indian U19 team, Vaibhav has been a standout performer in the ongoing youth ODI series against England. His aggressive batting and fearless approach have drawn widespread attention. In the fourth Youth ODI, he delivered a blistering knock of 143 runs, reaching his century in just 52 balls — the fastest-ever hundred in the format.

In a video posted by the BCCI, the young IPL prospect spoke about his innings and his inspiration: Team India captain Shubman Gill.

“I got a lot of inspiration from him because I watched his game,” Vaibhav said. “Even after scoring 100 or 200, he kept going and kept pushing the team forward.”

Reflecting on his own performance, Vaibhav added, “I had a lot of time left — 20 overs were still to go. I played one shot without full commitment, and that’s how I got out. Next time, I want to bat deeper and make it count, just like him.”
