How to check and pay for traffic fines in the UAE

From online payments to apps, there are several ways in which you can pay traffic fines

Dubai: Any driver in the UAE is deeply aware of how much it costs to go over the stipulated speed limit of the road or forget to pay for parking. Traffic fines in the UAE are an essential way through which authorities ensure the safety of motorists and commuters. If, through bad fortune or sheer bad driving skills, you do happen to rake up a few fines, here are the different ways in which you can pay them.

You will need a credit or debit card to make payments through a website. The Ministry of Interior offers the service on its website but individual emirates also have their own websites that you can use to pay fines that you have received within the UAE. Here is a list of all the official government websites that allow payment of traffic fines:

Are there any fines I cannot pay online?

If you have received a black point/s you would need to present your driver’s licence so that the black points can be registered on the licence. While you may need to visit the traffic department in such cases, some emirates have started offering the service online, with users expected to key in their licence details to pay the fine online.
