DUBAI: Wondering how you can get a booster shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine if you received another COVID-19 vaccine originally? Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has provided a detailed breakdown of how individuals can get a booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine, depending on which vaccine they had originally received.
The breakdown was posted on DHA’s official social media channels on November 29, a day after the authority announced that it would be giving booster shots for Pfizer to all eligible adults. As per the announcement, you can get one or two booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine, depending on which vaccine you originally received.

Who is eligible?
Initially, it is important to note that DHA will only administer booster shots to valid Dubai residency visa holders and nationals, as per the official announcement posted on their social media channels.
Which vaccine did you originally get?
Category 1
- Two doses of Pfizer-BioNTech
- Two doses doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca
- Two doses of Moderna
- One dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca and one dose of Pfizer-BioNTech
If you fall under this category, you will receive one booster dose of Pfizer BioNTech after six months from the second dose. Minimum age requirement – 18 years.
Category 2
- One dose of Johnson and Johnson (J&J).
If you have received one dose of Johnson and Johnson, you will receive one booster dose of Pfizer BioNTech after two months. Minimum age requirement – 18 years.
Category 3
- Two doses of Sinopharm
- Two doses of Sinovac
If you fall under this category, you will receive two Pfizer BioNTech booster shots after three months from the second dose of Sinopharm and Sinovac. Minimum age requirement – 16 years.
