    What are the COVID-19 rules for UAE National Day?

    NCEMA emphasises the importance of vaccination and booster shots

    UAE’s 50th National Day celebrations across the country will be held at 80 per cent capacity following an announcement on November 23 by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).

    NCEMA has established a COVID-19 protocol to prepare for any challenges related to the pandemic and urged the public to show the highest sense of responsibility and adhere to instructions.

    “New waves of the virus have been discovered in a number of countries, which are mainly due to non-adherence to precautionary measures and the need to increase vaccination rates,” NCEMA tweeted.

    These are the precautionary measures announced by NCEMA: -	A negative PCR [Polymerase Chain Reaction] test result done 96 hours before the event. - Temperature checks  of the attendees before entry.

    Face masks are mandatory and must be worn at all times in closed and crowded areas.  -	Social distancing will be implemented, and a 1.5 metre distance must be adhered at all times.

    - All the age groups that have been fully vaccinated and have also received their booster shot, as per the announced protocol, or have a Green Pass on the Al Hosn application are allowed to attend events.

    -	People are required to greet each other from a distance and refrain from shaking hands or exchanging hugs.

    -	The regular sanitisation of all areas is necessary, as well as the availability of sanitisation tools at the entries and exits of restrooms. -	People are required to refrain from overcrowding and monitor their symptoms.

    Need to get booster shots -  The authority reiterated that in light of the global spread of variants and because most countries are facing new outbreaks, people are encouraged to take the booster shot to increase immunity in society.
