Eid Al Fitr 2024 likely to start on Wednesday April 10
Dubai: Eid Al Fitr, the Festival of Breaking the Fast which marks the end of Ramadan, is expected to fall on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society, has indicated that Islamic consensus points towards the first day of the month of Shawwal falling on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. This means Muslims will be fasting 30 days.
Coincidentally, the birth of the Shawaal crescent will align with the occurrence of a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. The crescent's appearance before midnight implies that it will be visible after sunset the following day in most parts of the Islamic world.
