Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation today signed an agreement in the field of higher education and scholarships with the Hungary that provides 50 scholarships annually for undergraduate and postgraduate Omani students in various scientific disciplines in EU state.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Bakhit bin Ahmed Al Mahri, Undersecretary for Higher Education, and Dr. Tibor Stemari, Hungary’s ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
The agreement included strengthening participation in local and international conferences and scientific and educational workshops held in the two countries, as well as supporting and facilitating the study and teaching of Arabic and Hungarian, along with various other subjects agreed upon.
Al Mahri said the agreement comes after identifying best academic experiences around the world in a quest to provide Omani students an opportunity to broaden their study horizon.
Stemari stressed the importance of the cooperation between people and governments, especially with regard to developing human capabilities. He explained that the signing of the agreement to provide 50 scholarships includes courses in undergraduate and postgraduate studies in various scientific disciplines in Hungarian universities. He indicated that the two sides worked hard to overcome all difficulties to put this cooperation into effect.
