On Sunday, Jumeirah Golf Estates held their monthly competition of the Jumeirah Pairs by The Lounge Spa with 87 players in attendance.

With the Pairs Texas Scramble format, the winners with an amazing net score of 62 were Aayan Dadabhoy and Lauri Paasilinna. At only 15 and 16 years of age, they both are showing great promise for the future with their hours of practice paying off. Impressively no bogeys and 10 birdies on the scorecard, they managed to beat the field by 1 shot.

In the runner-up place with a net score of 63 were Dave Martin and Kieran Casey. An amazing highlight of their round were two eagles on both of the par fives on the back nine. Third place prize went to Mattias Rejman and James Harrison who also scored 63. Eight birdies and an eagle on the par five 14th their highlight.

There were two on-course competitions; Beat the Pro on hole number 6 where our amateurs were up against Diarmaid Fraser from the Tommy Fleetwood Academy. Impressively there were five people who managed to beat him. In the luck of a draw between the five, the winner of a 45-minute lesson with Diarmaid was Francois Natali. The winner of the second competition Nearest-the-pin on 17th hole was Greg Mathieu with a stunning shot within 4 feet.

Whilst concluding the prize ceremony, Adam Stastny, Assistant Golf Services Manager, commented: 'Congratulations Aayan and Lauri, it was tough competition today. I would also like to say a special thank you to our sponsor for the day, The Lounge Spa, more specifically to Peter and Tara Rowledge, thank you for your continuous support, everyone in the club really appreciates it.'
