1. Wild Houses
Kids love building their own world – let them create a little town using tissue rolls, coloured paper, markers, paints, a glue stick and scissors. and a healthy dose of imagination.
2. Fire-breathing Dragon
You’ll need:
- Coloured paper
- Toilet paper roll
- Glue stick
- 2 medium pompoms
- 2 googly eyes
- Glue gun
- Scissors
- 2 small pompoms
- Coloured tissue paper
Method:
- Cut the coloured paper to the size of the tissue roll and use the glue stick to attach it to the roll.
- Stick the medium pompoms and the googly eyes on to the roll using the glue gun.
- At the opposite end of the roll use the glue gun to stick the small pompoms on.
- Then use the glue stick to attach tissue paper tentacles to the inside of the tube.
- Take a deep breath and fire away!
3. Ladybird Stone Art
What a fun way to introduce kids to stone art! Use acrylic paints to colour the ladybirds bodies onto stones and use markers to make spots. Finish it off with cute googly eyes.
4. Sea Shell Turtles
You’ll need:
- Shells
- Green foam paper
- Paint
- Small googly eyes
- Scissors
- Glue gun
Method:
- Paint the shells with green paint (acrylic will stick best) and leave to dry.
- Cut out the foam paper in the shape of the turtles’ heads, legs and tails with extra space to stick under the shell.
- Once the shell is dry, use the glue gun to stick the head, legs and tail under the shell.
- Use the glue gun to stick the eyes on.
Tip: Create a crab version by sticking the googly eyes on the shell, using red paint and legs.
5. Paper Plate Dinosaurs
All you need to make these amazing dinosaurs are paper plates, tissue rolls, googly eyes, scissors, glue and paints. Begin by cutting the paper plates in half for the body.
Cut out triangles for the spikes and a head/neck shape. Stick it all together, attaching the spikes and head to the back of the plate and backing your dinosaur with the other half of the plate. Cut the roll in two and make a slit to insert the plates. Paint your dinosaur and, when dry, stick on the googly eyes.
Now that’s a quick trip to the Jurassic age!
