For the last six years, Israel has wilfully and knowingly ignored an International Court of Justice ruling that the wall which splits the West Bank into separate enclaves is illegal under humanitarian and human-rights laws.
When the illegal wall is finished, occupied east Jerusalem will be cut off from the West Bank with hundreds of thousands of Palestinians surrounded and living on different sides, and tens of thousands of others living in closed areas, farmers separated from their families, and children from their schools.
There can be no moral justification for the erection of this wall, complete with razor wire, electrified defences and sniper towers. It is yet another symbol of Zionist oppression; illegal occupiers of land behind an illegal wall.
This wall is a deep psychological scar for every Palestinians and for all who hold freedom dearly. It is a cut through the very jugular of Palestine, a wall behind which illegal colonists steal and squander the wealth, land and water that rightfully belong to Palestinians.
Sadly, international pressure on Israel is all but mute, with no howls of protest being heard over the rumbling of cement mixers and bulldozers at work on the wall and colonies.
Division between Palestinian factions is hindering the people's ability to act in a single clear voice against the wall.
This wall is but the latest slight of many purposely inflicted by Israel on the long-suffering Palestinian people.
As a nation that screams for international recognition and justification for its misdeeds, how ironic it is that Israel chooses to ignore the verdict of international jurists. This is yet another act of hypocrisy from Tel Aviv.
Israel illegally occupies Palestinian lands, illegally deprives the Gaza Strip of goods, continues to build illegal colonies and ignores legal rulings. It is a pariah state.
