Girish and Rakesh Daryani were born and brought up in Dubai. They started our career in the textiles industry in 2002 importing fabrics from China and South Korea and exporting to places such as Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They have always loved their fashion but never found the right place in Dubai who could cater to their bespoke needs with a personal touch and while fitting a reasonable budget. So they would rely on designers in Mumbai to get their clothes. In 2013, the textile wholesale trading business took a beating mainly due to the was in Syria, the Russian currency crisis and oil prices. That’s when the pair decided to get into the retail side of textiles by opening a men’s bespoke textiles and tailoring store. Their idea was finally conceptualised when they opened doors in February 2015.
Why menswear?
“Because men’s fashion has really evolved over the last few years and it was always a challenge to find the right store to cater to our personal bespoke needs in Dubai. Hence, we found a gap in the market that we could bridge.”
Where are you retailed at?
“We are at Souq Al Kabeer in Bur Dubai.”
Your vision for the label:
“Our immediate plans in the near future is to open a store in Downtown Dubai in order to be more accessible to a wider target audience and to keep improving our quality.”
