The Wiggles have achieved global success as children's entertainers who teach useful lessons through music and dance.

We spoke to founding member, Anthony Field (also known as the Blue Wiggle) for his advice on how to make learning fun for young children.

He says, "After a stint in the Australian army, I trained in Early Childhood Development. I met two of the other Wiggles on the course - we learnt a lot about children and how to empower them with music and language." Check out Field's tips for a fun learning experience:

Make it musical: "Music inspires children and adults to dance, to create, to play and tell stories. Music can encourage children to recognise emotions and when children and parents appreciate music together, it can be a great bonding element."

Get real: "Make sure the expectations you have of your children are realistic."

The lesson is in the journey: "Keep the experience open-ended so it becomes more about the process than the final product. For example, when making a cake, it doesn't really matter how the cake turns out, just that they enjoyed making it and learnt something along the way."

Be encouraging: "Don't be a dictator about the learning activity - make your child feel valued and value their ideas and input."
