"I believe in the power of destiny but I also believe that there is much we an do to make our lives better," says Indian signature analyst Vraj Kishore Dhyani, who is currently in Dubai.

Dhyani, who specialises in studying signatures and assessing the individual's life and his ups an downs, has examined more than 50,000 signatures and says that it is possible by making the correct alterations to you signature to bring about positive changes in your life.

"I learnt the art of acrophonology – reading a signature through the sounds of the words in it – many years ago from my own teacher and it changed my life," he says.

"Signatures can be very simple or very compound or complicated. I have identified 40 different varieties of signatures such as continuous, lengthy, compact, declining, raising, overlapped, penetrative, faint, vertical, horizontal, diagonal, affirmative, negative, artistic, precise, bold, musical, scattered ... and many more. There have been many memorable moments where many of my clients have come to me hassled and pensive about their lives and have within a short time of changing their signatures, altered the very course of their life.

"I believe our signatures are authentic mediums to identify our personality, prospects and progress, which are all pre-determined and can be realised through the angles the alphabets in our signature make.

Our signature mirrors our moods, temperament, values, discipline, expected transformations, affirmatives, negatives, events, destinations, attitudes, commitments, shortcomings, harmony, differences, sensitivity, potentiality, mental abilities and so on.

"I recall the case of a young woman who consulted me as she was unable to get married. I examined her signature and realised that she was preoccupied with her family, so much so that her own name was a mere initial while her surname occupied nearly three-fourths of her signature. I told her that she needed to sign her name in full, she had to let go of her attachment to her family name. I also believe in numerology and got her to alter the spelling of her name.

"Imagine my surprise when a month later I received an invitation to her wedding!

"Of course, reading a signature is not so simple.

I have to thoroughly study it and look for elements such as the sound vibrations in a name, the angular action of alphabets at the extremities, the magnetic force of the signature, the penetration of each word, the reflexes of the signature, its impact, its vibrations, the significance of each word, the total structure and so on. Based on a very intensive analysis, I then draw my conclusions.

"There was a senior financial executive in Ahmedabad, India who sent me his signature by mail. I took one look at it and told him that in a couple of months' time, there would be a windfall in his career and life.

He was very surprised ... and came to Baroda, where I live, to meet me. He refused to believe [my prediction]. Yet within a month he had changed his job and moved to Delhi as the financial controller of a five-star hotel. The next month, he was transferred to the US with a promotion.

"Things do happen when you sign in a way that is in harmony with your persona. If not, then I advise people to tidy up their signatures, make some aspects prominent, obliterate others, change a curve here, a loop there and it works!

"My signature analysis has been an unforgettable experience because it has taken me to so many places in India and abroad.

"I have travelled to many cities around the world, including Dubai and New York, examining people's signatures in many languages. Written in any script, a signature has its unique and universal language as the angles it creates on the page comes within 360 degrees – ie, a circle.

"I regard the signature as the most powerful instrument of change in the world and intend to write a book on signatures and their impact on people's lives and personalities.

"I love my work and love meeting people. It makes every moment unforgettable for me!"
