This quirky flick revolves around dental hygienist, Laura - played by Jenna Fischer - a woman who is lost in the world, with her son and husband both disinterested in her. Looking at life through an unglamorous lens, it's easy to relate to most of the film's characters, however it is a little slow-paced and lacks the emotional connection that films like Jen-An's The Good Girl have.

Both a sci-fi and a romcom, this film follows a young man who travels back in time to the 70s to try and revive his parents' marriage - but discovers another man who admires his mother. The film was generally panned critically, but if you put the gaping holes in the plot aside and focus on the cute costumes and sets, it's a fun watch. A little FYI: the DVD comes with the option of Arabic subtitles.

The Event
Who's in it? Jason Ritter, Blair Underwood, Laura Innes
This edge-of-your-seat, 22-episode sci-fi TV series is well worth watching. It starts out with an American man (Ritter) who goes looking for his missing girlfriend, only to discover a conspiracy that is bigger than even the US government. Each episode offers up a cliffhanger that will make you want to watch the next (which is how we managed to watch six eps in one sitting).
