Vishal Mahtani is a Dubai-based entrepreneur and chief executive of Price Global Group. The Indian expat began his career by heading Price Club - one of West Africa's biggest electronic retailers for over 10 years from1997 in Ghana. In 2007, he came to Dubai and founded Price Global Group.
Who was your biggest influence for learning how to manage money?
My biggest influence has and always will be Richard Branson, having modelled everything done by him. Another influential person would be my father.
How much did you get paid for your first job?
My first job was counter sale at a liquor store in the US; earning $8 (Dh30) an hour.

My car – SLK 200
What is your worst spending decision?
I wouldn’t call it a spending decision more so an investment decision. I invested in a clothing store called Nithya situated in Outlet Mall and Reef Mall and lost over a million dirhams.
What’s the first thing you do after getting paid each month?
All my tangible money goes into securities trading including gold, crude oil and many more.
Where do you invest your money?
As mentioned, I invest my money in securities and also in options.
Do you have a financial plan in place for the future?
I have a financial plan for the future.
Are you spender or saver?
Mostly a saver, generally select spender.
If you won Dh1 million, what would you do with it?
Would give 10 per cent towards charity, 30 per cent towards security saving and the remaining 60 per cent towards projects.
