Dubai: Amanat Holdings PJSC, (DFM symbol: AMANAT), the healthcare and education listed investment company, announced the appointment of Dr Shamsheer Vayalil as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors.
A released from the company said, "The appointment comes as part of Amanat’s commitment to driving strategic leadership and innovation in the rapidly evolving healthcare and education sectors."
Vayalil, who is Amanat’s largest individual shareholder, is set to bring to Amanat his experience as a healthcare visionary and entrepreneur in the region.
As Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, Vayalil oversees Burjeel, Medeor, LLH, Lifecare, and Tajmeel healthcare brands. A radiologist by profession, the entreprenuer and doctor founded his first hospital in 2007, after which his VPS Healthcare grew to own and operate over 20 hospitals in the region. Now, all VPS Healthcare brands also come under Burjeel Holdings, along with other products and services.
Vayalil will replace Hamad Abdulla Alshamsi as Chairman,it was announced following a Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, 28 December. The company also appointed Mr. Abdulla Mohammed Hassan Mohammed Alhosani as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
