Who knew you could score major karma points just by feasting on some pasta and apple tart?

That’s exactly what dining on these two dishes at Movenpick’s Jumeirah Lakes Towers’ Urban Bar & Kitchen (UBK) restaurant will get you – via being kind to both animals and the planet.

Because Upfield, the world’s largest plant-based consumer goods company, recently announced a collaboration between Movenpick Hotels & Resorts and its new plant-based brand Flora Plant. This teamwork means two new dishes have been created by UBK restaurant – the Flora Plant Vegan Apple Tart and the Flora Plant Vegan Truffle Pasta.

In a bid to promote vegan options in Dubai’s dining scene, the two dishes use 100 per cent plant-based Flora Plant butter and cream, as part of Flora Plant’s first hospitality partnership in the UAE. Flora Plant has 50 per cent lower impact on CO2 emissions when compared with dairy - and it takes half the carbon dioxide, requires two thirds less land and half the water to produce Flora Plant.

The partnership is part of a larger initiative from Upfield to support chefs in meeting increasing demands for plant-based options - so look out for more of such collaborations with hospitality outlets through the year!
