Yemen: President Hadi tasks Saeed to form new government

Appoints Lamless as governor of Aden, Al Hamedi promoted to major general



Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi has assigned Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed to form the new government. President Hadi has also appointed Ahmed Lamless as governor of Aden, and Brigadier General Ahmed Al Hamedi as director general of Aden police.

Abu Dhabi: Yemeni President, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, has assigned Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed to form the new government.

According to the official Yemeni news agency Saba, President Hadi also appointed Ahmed Lamless as governor of Aden, and Brigadier General Ahmed Al Hamedi as director general of Aden police, promoting him to the rank of major general.

The Yemeni government welcomed the statement issued by Saudi Arabia regarding the proposed mechanism to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh agreement.

Yemeni government spokesman, Rajeh Badi, confirmed to Saba, the government’s keenness to fully implement the agreement, appreciating the efforts of the brothers in Saudi Arabia and their support to implement the agreement that aims to maintain the security, stability and unity of Yemen, and advance its development.

Badi also welcomed the announcement of the Southern Transitional Council to abandon the decision of self-rule and its consequences and commitment to implement the Riyadh Agreement, expressing his hope that this would be a serious and real beginning to move forward quickly in implementing the terms of the agreement in accordance with the specified time periods for the necessary and urgent national interest.
