Saudi police arrest three citizens for promoting forged artefacts in Riyadh

Stones, manuscripts and metal figures were manipulated into looking like the real thing

Abu Dhabi:Riyadh police have arrested three citizens, in their 40s and 50s, after they promoted 154 forged artefacts including natural stones, manuscripts, stone carvings and metal figures, Colonel Shaer Al Tuwaijri, spokesman for the Riyadh Police, said.

Al Tuwaijri added the trio processed the fake artefacts with chemicals and subjected them to different temperatures to appear as if they are archaeological pieces.

Al Tuwaijri added the accused were taken into custody and referred to the Public Prosecution pending investigation and trial.
