Saudi Arabia has unearthed 24 engraved artifacts at a Mecca car park dig, Saudi media reported.
The Secretariat of Saudi Arabia’s holy capital revealed the delivery of 24 artifacts to the Ministry of Tourism, which were found, while the smart car parking project contractor was digging next to the Ma’lla Cemetery in Mecca.
The spokesperson for the Secretariat of the Holy Capital, Engineer Raed bin Abdullah Samarqandi, explained that the antiquities found included engraved inscriptions on archaeological tombstones written in Arabic calligraphy, one of which dates back to the year 655 AH or 1257 AD.
