Saudi Arabia tops region in publishing COVID-19 research

Saudi universities published 84% of Kingdom’s coronavirus related research

Dubai: Saudi Arabia has been ranked 14th in the world and maintained its top ranking among Arab countries in terms of publishing coronavirus-related research, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sheikh said that the Kingdom also ranked 12th within the G20 member states, citing a  world-class network database of the Web of Science.

Commenting on the occasion, the minister extended thanks and appreciation to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman for their continuous support for education and scientific research.

Saudi universities have managed to publish as much as 84 per cent of the Kingdom’s coronavirus related research, indicating that the total related research papers published across the Kingdom were as many as 915.
