Saudi Arabia reports 552 new coronavirus cases, 30 deaths
Dubai: Saudi Arabia today announced the detection of 552 new cases of COVID-19 cases, pushing the Kingdom’s infection tally to 330,798.
The virus has claimed 30 more lives during the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll to 4,542, Dr. Mohammad Al Abdul Ali, Health Ministry’s spokesperson said during a press conference on Tuesday.
The total number of recovered cases jumped to 312,685 after 1,185 infected patients had fully recovered. This takes the recovery rate to 94.52 per cent, the spokesperson said.
Active cases have fallen to 13,572, including 1,121 who are critical, indicating a significant decline in the past two weeks.
Jeddah registered the highest daily reported cases with 66, followed by Mecca with 53 cases, and Hofuf with 42. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, Dr. Al Abdul Ali added.
