Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s new coronavirus cases dropped further on Monday with 768 infections, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 321,456.

Twenty-six people died due to complications caused by the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the Kingdom’s death toll to 4,107.

Also, 886 new recoveries have been reported, pushing the total number of recovered cases to 297,623, the Ministry of Health said during its daily press conference.

“The Kingdom has been detecting less than 1,000 new cases of the novel coronavirus per day for the past 10 days,” Health Ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al Abdel Ali said.

Mecca again topped the list with 67 new infections, followed by Jeddah with 57, Medina with 50, while 46 cases each in Riyadh and Hufof, 44 in Dhahran, 27 in Hail and 25 in Al Mobarraz. The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, Dr. Al Abdul Ali said.

The largest group of people to be affected by the coronavirus in Saudi Arabia is the youth in the country, he said, urging all community members to abide by preventative measures and health protocols to help contain the outbreak.
