Saudi Arabia: Ministry of Commerce fines 579 businesses while inspecting markets
Inspection tours aimed to ensure adequate supply of products in the market
Dubai: The Ministry of Commerce inspectors in Tabuk have issued 161 instant fines against the violators after carrying out 1,590 inspection tours on markets and commercial establishments.
Implemented in the period from May 24 to 27 June, the inspection tours aimed to ensure adequate products, and to follow up the prices of basic and consumer goods.
The tours targeted hypermarkets, food supplies, wholesale and retail markets, shops of luxury goods, outlets for medical items and devices, pharmacies, steel, cement and building materials shops, petrol stations and car agencies.
Meanwhile, the ministry’s inspectors in Qassim Region have released 418 instant fines against the violators following 8,700 inspection tours on markets and commercial establishments, in the same period.
The Ministry of Commerce calls on all consumers to lodge their complaints and report on the violating establishments through MC Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s official website.
