Abu Dhabi: Saudi police have arrested seven Ethiopian men for allegedly robbing customers of a number of Jeddah banks at knifepoint, police said.

“The suspects, in their 30s and 50s, lurked in front of banks for clients and assaulted them after they left and robbed their money at knifepoint, using a stolen vehicle to get away from the crime scene,” a Mecca police spokesperson said.

The men were remanded in custody, before moving to the Public Prosecution for further questioning and trial, police said.
