Cairo: A Saudi social media celebrity has been arrested after he used toilet water to make tea for his unsuspecting wife and uploaded a video documenting the act, according to media reports.

Police in the holy city of Mecca arrested the man who admitted to the deed, saying he meant it as a prank on his wife, online newspaper Ajel reported Tuesday.

The offender added that he later removed the footage on advice from his wife who after learning about the prank argued that children and teenagers among his followers could imitate the act.

The name of the offender was not officially disclosed. But some social media users identified him as Hani Halawani, a snapchat active known for uploading controversial online videos.
