COVID-19: Saudi cases increase, 29 deaths reported

418 new coronavirus infections reported in single day

Dubai: Saudi Arabia today reported 418 new coronavirus cases and 29 more deaths over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the kingdom to 334,605 and virus-related fatalities to 4,768, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also announced that 612 more patients have fully recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total number of recovered cases to 319,154, with the recovery rate hitting a whopping 95.38 per cent.

Meanwhile, active cases have continued to drop with only 10,683 being reported today, out of which 993 are critical.

Jeddah reported the highest daily cases with 43, followed by Mecca with 31, and Medina with 29 infections. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the kingdom.
