COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 2,764 new coronavirus cases, 45 deaths

A noticeable decline in the number of infected people who are still receiving treatment.

Dubai: Saudi Arabia on Thursday announced the detection of 2,764 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 243,238.

The Ministry of Health said that 45 more people have died from the virus, taking the death tally to 2,370. There has been a significant increase in the number of recovered people during the past few days, with the registering of 4,574 more patients who made full recovery. This brings the total number of recovered cases to 187,622, the ministry said during its daily press conference.

There are 53,246 active cases, including 2,206 critically ill patients under intensive care, a noticeable decline in the number of infected people who are still receiving treatment.

Jeddah topped the list of cities with the highest number of newly detected cases with 263, followed by Hofuf with 220. Riyadh came third with 211 new cases, signalling a decline in the daily reported cases.
