COVID-19 clinics are not for travel purposes, say Saudi health authorities
Tests at Tataman and Takkad clinics are part of health care service
Cairo: Saudi health authorities have said that medical facilities set up to examine people with mild or suspected symptoms of the coronavirus are not meant for those planning to travel abroad.
“The examination provided at the the Tataman (Rest Assured) and Takkad (Make Sure) clinics is a health care service aimed at protecting society’s health,” the Health Ministry was quoted as saying by the Saudi online newspaper Ajel today.
The test result is relayed in a text message, not a written paper, the ministry noted.
The ministry’s elaboration was in response to queries from the public on whether results of the tests conducted at those clinics can be used as part of documents required for travelling abroad from the kingdom.
Last month, Saudi Arabia partially restarted international flights as the country has recently relaxed restrictions earlier imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19.
