Coronavirus: Saudi Arabia reports first death, 205 new cases of COVID-19
Dubai: Saudi Arabia on Tuesday reported its first death from the coronavirus, and 205 new cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 767, according to Al Arabiya.
The highest single-day toll in the kingdom was announced by the Ministry of Health during a press briefing.
The ministry said the victim was an Afghan expat. It called on public to avoid gathering as much as possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce and Industry warned people against prince manipulation, saying that prices are a red line. It affirmed that goods are available abundantly in all cities of kingdom.
Additionally, the Ministry of Interior stressed it will have zero tolerance against whoever spread rumours, emphasising it will combat all rumours that may impact the kingdom’s efforts to contain the virus.
The ministry said that the first day of the curfew witnessed a remarkable compliance by residents, adding that it will apply the law strictly to all violators.
