COVID-19: Qatar reports 222 new coronavirus cases

770,213 people have taken PCR tests so far

Dubai: Qatar announced the detection of 222 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 125,319.

No new deaths have been reported during the past 24 hours, keeping the country’s fatality tally at 214, the Ministry of Public Health said during its daily coronavirus update on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, 239 infected people have fully recovered, pushing the total recovered cases to 122,448.

Active cases have declined to 2,871, including 431 critical cases and 55 seriously ill patients who are still under intensive care.

A further 5,288 people have taken PCR tests during the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of people tested across the country to 770,213.
