Two Asians die in Kuwait fire

Kuwait City: A fire had broken out in the district of Kabad, north of the Kuwaiti capital, killing two Asian nationals, Kuwaiti newspaper Al Rai reported on Tuesday.

Firefighters and medics rushed to the area where they found out an Asian man and a woman had been seriously injured in a blaze that erupted inside a room, the report said.

Both were taken to the hospital, but they died before arrival.

Authorities ordered an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

In recent weeks, the firefighting service has put out a series of blazes hitting vehicles and facilities in several parts of Kuwait. The fires were mainly blamed on a record heatwave and electrical short circuit problems.
