Kuwait City: The Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, health ‘is stable’, cabinet of Ministers said.

“The cabinet of ministers assures the health of the Emir, Sheikh Sabah, as he completed a successful surgery in the United States. May god protect him and return to the country as soon as possible,” the Cabinet of Ministers official Twitter account stated.

The speaker of parliament, Marzouq Al Ghanim, also tweeted that the Emir’s health is stable and is ‘very reassuring’.

The 91-year-old Emir flew to the United States on Thursday to complete his medical treatment.

Last Sunday, Sheikh Sabah underwent a successful surgery, after he was admitted to the hospital for medical check ups on Saturday, his office said in a statement. The statement did not disclose the reason for the surgery or what treatment the Emir is going to receive in the US.
