Kuwait: Kuwait's Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that it had detected the EG.5 a COVID variant belonging to a subset of the virus.

According to a health official cited by Kuwait's news agency KUNA, the identification of the variant was in line with expectations and not a cause for alarm, considering its presence in around 50 countries.

The statement also said that the country's epidemiological indicators show stability.

The ministry also urged people to continue to adhere to prevention guidelines, such as wearing masks, social distancing, and getting vaccinated.
