COVID-19: Kuwait tally rises to 36,431 with 511 new cases

Total fatalities in Gulf state at 298 as two more succumb to virus

Abu Dhabi: Kuwait has confirmed 511 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s infection tally to 36,431, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported Monday.

The Health Ministry also announced two more deaths from COVID-19, taking the total such fatalities in the country to 298.

All the new cases were in contact with previously infected people or are being investigated for sources of infection, the ministry’s spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said in a media update.

There are 184 patients receiving intensive care treatment, according to the official.

The ministry said that 772 more patients have recovered from the disease over the past 24 hours, raising to 27,531 the total of such recoveries in the country, KUNA reported.
