COVID-19: Kuwait records 702 new cases, 3 deaths
Cairo: Kuwait has confirmed 702 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, an increase of 229 cases compared to the tally reported the day before, taking the country’s overall infections to 85,811, a health official said Tuesday.
Three more deaths from COVID-19 were announced, bringing the country’s total such fatalities to 534, Health Ministry’s spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad added in an update.
There are 90 patients receiving intensive care treatment, Dr Al Sanad said, according to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.
Kuwait’s total virus tests have reached 621,616 after 3,997 tests have been done over the past 24 hours.
The Health Ministry also said that 433 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, raising to 77,657 the overall number of recoveries from the disease in Kuwait.
Earlier this week, Kuwait lifted a curfew imposed for over five months to limit the spread of COVID-19.
