COVID-19: Kuwait announces 683 new cases, 2 deaths
Cairo: Kuwait has recorded 683 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, taking the country's infection tally to 33,823, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported Wednesday.
The Health Ministry also announced two more deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total such fatalities in the country to 275.
All the new cases were in contact with previously infected people or are being investigated for sources of infection, the ministry's spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said in a media update.
There are 193 patients receiving intensive care treatment, according to the official.
He added that 345 persons have completed the obligatory institutional quarantine over the past 24 hours and will have to undergo 14 days at home isolation.
The number of COVID-19 tests conducted so far in Kuwait has totalled 324,373, according to Dr Al Sanad.
The ministry earlier Wednesday said that 1,126 more patients have recovered from the disease over the past 24 hours, bringing to 23,288 the total of such recoveries in the country, KUNA reported.
