Bahrain mulls risk allowance for coronavirus-fighting personnel
Cairo: The Legislative and Legal Committee at the Bahraini parliament has approved a proposal to grant a risk allowance to personnel in all sectors engaged in fighting the novel coronavirus, a lawmaker has said.
MP Mohammad Issa, the panel’s head was quoted by Al Bilad newspaper as saying that the allowance is envisaged to be granted retroactively as of last February.
“The committee has decided to approve the proposal and submit a relevant report to the Council of Representatives’ bureau,” he added.
It is not clear yet when the parliament will debate the proposal.
