In a video that seems to have surfaced from Pakistan, two robbers had a change of heart, and returned valuables to a food delivery man, from whom they were trying to steal. The video clip of the incident is going viral on Twitter today.

Reportedly, the incident took place in Karachi, when two robbers on a bike tried to mug a delivery man who was on duty. The viral footage shows the delivery man walking to his parked bike. As he proceeds to mount the bike, two masked men arrived at the spot. The rider stops the bike and the person sitting pillion gets off the bike, and appears to steal from the delivery man. But, a few seconds later, instead of fleeing, they were seen engaging in a conversation with the delivery man. The man then broke into tears. Upon seeing this, the robbers returned all his valuables, hugged him, and then fled from the spot.

According to Pakistani local media, the robbers first tried to intimidate the man. However, they decided against stealing and instead ended up consoling him.

Comments on Twitter showed tweeps hailing the “kind-hearted robbers” and getting emotional watching the clip. Some believed that the robbers must have been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 situation and had some humanity left within them, and understood the delivery person’s situation.

Tweep @aaqibrk posted: “A small act of kindness has moved us to tears. This tells a lot about the kind of toxic environment we live in. Little things make a big difference. Humanity is what will save us. Act kindly.”

@Waqassaeed_: “We’re living in a country where educated people are selling plasma, but, thieves are moved by tears and give stuff back.”

However, some tweeps dismissed the video saying there was no proof yet that the men were robbers. @sid_pakistan tweeted: “If you see this video without caption , you will not say that the guys on the bike are robbers. They must be some friends or colleagues, who came to exchange a small thing like USB etc. Never judge on social media without proof.”
