Islamabad: A Pakistani-Hindu medical student was found dead in her hostel room at the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) in Larkana, media reports said on Tuesday.

Nimrita Kumari, a student of the SMBBMU's Bibi Aseefa Dental College, was found dead on Monday in her hostel room, the university administration confirmed.

The body found lying on a charpoy with a rope tied to her neck while her room was locked from inside, The Express Tribune reported.

Nimrita's friends grew worried when she did not respond to their knocks on the door for several minutes.

“She was neither responding to the knocking at the door nor to our shouts,” one of her friends told the police.
